1. About the Restaurant
The Musée d’Orsay restaurant blends classic and contemporary styles. Adorned with 1900s décor, the frescoes by Gabriel Ferrier and Benjamin Constant grace the ceilings of the hall and the grand dining room. The restaurant’s chairs, designed by the Italian artist Jacopo Foggini, add an elegant and contemporary touch. This luxurious restaurant predates its current setting, once serving the Orsay railway station, which opened for the 1900 Paris World Fair. In addition to savoring the local dishes featuring excellent traditional French cuisine, the restaurant stands as a separate attraction within the museum, promising delightful moments.
2. Average Price of À la Carte Dishes: 20€ to 40€
3. Restaurant Operating Hours: Tuesday through Sunday, 11:45 AM to 2:30 PM; Thursday evenings, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
4. Tip: Lunch + Guided Museum Tour
Recommended: Take a guided Impressionist tour of the Musée d’Orsay and enjoy lunch at the impressive restaurant with everything included! By purchasing this combo, you can save and avoid surprises. This ticket will allow you to have a fantastic and comprehensive experience at the museum.
This ticket entitles you to: Skip-the-line entry to the Musée d’Orsay; Guided tour of the Musée d’Orsay with an Impressionist focus; Full lunch with three courses and wine at the museum’s restaurant; Accredited tour guide (please note the available languages with the guide).
If you’re not interested in having lunch at the restaurant, I recommend getting the Paris Museum Pass (that’s my choice, and I highly recommend it, as the savings are substantial!). With this pass, you get access to over 60 museums (skip the lines!) and various other landmarks like the Arc de Triomphe, the crypt of Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Pantheon, Sainte-Chapelle, among others. This same pass also grants entry to many other attractions outside Paris, including Versailles! On average, the cost of three attractions already covers the pass, making it well worth it!
